The following examples show a broad range of approaches to illustrating a concept. Generally though they are defined by one or more of the following characteristics:

  • Small Scale
  • Speed of Assembly
  • Temporality
  • Transportability
What they demonstrate for certain is that constraint is a catalyst of creativity. Some are structures in their own right and some simply express an idea, a notion, a form or experiment through clever use of materials. We find this form of architectural expression exciting, in that it is where so much building design innovation begins. It is a format that is conducive to experimentation. Its responsiveness means that it is ideal as a test bed for confronting the environmental and societal changes in the modern world. If you think we have omitted a shining example, please email us your comments.
